First time ordering a whole animal?
It's simpler than it sounds. Here's what people usually ask.
How does payment work?
Reserving is free - nothing is charged today. After processing, we confirm your final price at $7.49/lb based on your animal's actual weight and send you an invoice to pay before delivery or pickup.
How much meat will I get?
Each listing shows an estimated live weight and an estimated packaged weight. Packaged weight is always less than live weight and depends on the animal and your cut choices, so we confirm exact amounts after processing.
Can I share an animal with someone?
Yes. Choose Half-share when you reserve. You can split with a friend or family member, or ask us to match you with another buyer.
Do I need to contact the farmer?
No. You deal only with Know Your Meat. We coordinate the farm, the licensed processing facility, cutting, packaging and delivery for you.
When will I receive my order?
After you reserve, we confirm the animal and book a processing appointment, then tell you the expected date. Timing depends on processing availability.
What if my animal is no longer available?
If we cannot confirm your animal with our farm partner, we will let you know right away and offer you another available animal. Since nothing is charged upfront, there is nothing to refund.
